In October 2022, the National Cave Rescue Commission hosted a two day cave rescue training at Berome Moore Cavern in Perryville, MO.  Many MVG members attended. Pictures compliments of Rob Lawson.

Dan Lamping, MSS President and member of the Meramec Valley Grotto, was recoginzed for giving his students at Mehlville High School a service opportunity at Cliff Cave in St. Louis County. Check out the article!

In the 1970s, Chaminade High School in St. Louis, once had a student grotto.  Unfortunately, the grotto is defunct, but here are a couple of their newsletters. On September 11, 2021, twelve MVG members and guests canoed to a great cave, and explored the cave.  We monitored the cave, recorded information on biology, and provided a written report to the MSS and the land owner.   If this sounds like fun to you and you are interested in caving with us, please contact us.

The Meramec Valley Grotto had their July 2021 meeting inside Cliff Cave.  There was a huge turn out and there was a bonus cave trip.

This presentation will be an overview or project caving in Missouri and describe how the MSS & CRF work to complement one another in conjunction with the Missouri caving community.  Topics covered will be the various services each organization provides, cooperative agreements and partnerships with state and federal agencies and the Missouri Cave Database.

At the November 2019 MVG meeting, Chad McCain gave a demonstration on rigging for rescues.  

At the October 2019 MVG Meeting, Craig P. Williams of CAIRN gave a presentation on the cave archeology of Craters of the Moon National Park.
